“Really pleased with the result. The team are so nice and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.”
— Kate & Jack, Chesterfield
Kate and Jack felt that their existing kitchen was too small, so the basement was converted into a large kitchen/diner with utility. An additional space was created for a home office with an en-suite WC.
To create the large open-plan kitchen/diner two load bearing walls were removed and replaced with RSJs. The addition of natural light into the new kitchen was created by adding conservatory doors onto a newly landscaped garden staircase. The floor was dug out and underpinned to allow for the addition of floor insulation, waterproofing system and the new floor slab.
Kate and Jack’s basement was damp but not flooded and so a standard internal tanking system with single sump pump was installed with aqua channel drainage system.
