While loft conversions lend themselves to additional bedrooms, basements provide significantly more flexibility in terms of their use; from kitchens to playrooms, to offices and gyms.
Basement conversions in those properties which have an existing cellar beneath can be completed within a matter of weeks, and simple basement conversions can cost roughly the same amount per square meter as you would expect to pay for a loft conversion. How it's done:
1. Schedule a free, no obligation basement survey by calling us on 0800 038 6427 or filling in the form on the Contact Us page. We'll arrange for one of our basement experts to visit you and complete a thorough survey of your basement space. We'll explain the various damp proofing techniques and their advantages, go through any ideas you may have, and explain the options available for your basement conversion.

2. Design your new space. The way you plan to use your converted basement will determine many design details, for example, a home office will require different lighting and electrical wiring requirements than, say, a home cinema. We can help you sort through your design options and assist in coming up with a final plan that suits your needs and budget.

3. Once you are happy with you cellar conversion designs, the basement needs to be prepared for the work to be undertaken. We'll assist you in clearing any items you have placed in your cellar, and then begin in stripping back the basement to its bare bones ready for damp proofing.

4. Your basement is waterproofed using our comprehensive Basement Waterproofing System . It is now ready for bespoke conversion to your design.
