Case Study: Imperial Road, Nottingham

Our basement has always been a dark and damp place. Living in a Victorian house, having a warm, inviting space was not seemingly high on the agenda of the builder. However, thanks to the guys from Yorkshire Basements that is now what we have.
From the first day to the last we were supremely impressed with the attitude, skill and attention to detail that Rich and his team demonstrated.
They created in a matter of weeks, a dry, warm place to be for us and our daughter. Every phase of the build was delivered on time and with a
smile and great sense of humour.
The pictures don't lie when it comes to showing what an amazing transformation that has taken place in our basement and we can't thank the team enough. Aside from the gorgeous space, we have added £1,000s to the value of our house.

The House:
A victorian bay-fronted terraced house in Nottingham, NG6.

The Conversion:

Basement Size: 23 sq. m

Project Duration: 6 weeks

The clients required additional space in their home for their growing family, and chose to convert their basement into an addition en-suite room. To transform the cellar into a more usable layout we replaced two supporting walls with bespoke RSJ beams which fitted around the existing floor joists so they were flush with the finished ceiling, and didn't hang down into the finished space. Extra head room was also created by digging down before laying the new floor.
A good sized en-suite was installed, and additional storage created through fitting custom shelving into the chimney stacks. Alistair and Liz now use the space as a baby entertainment room for their new addition.
