Case Study: The Lane, Nottingham

"Having had problems with a wet basement for many years I gave Yorkshire Basement Systems a call. After a brief chat we arranged for Richard to come and look at my cellar the following day. This was so he could outline what he could do to remedy the problems I had been having. To cut a long story short Richard was without fail accommodating in every aspect prior to my deciding to go ahead with work. He was extremely willing to arrange visits to former clients and answered all my awkward questions. Ultimately I was able to embark on the project and Yorkshire Basements Systems did exactly what it says on the tin. They take your grotty old basement and turn into a bright, new and usable space."

The House:
A red brick-built Victorian terrance

Situation:
Basement Size: 15 sq. m

Project Duration: 4 weeks

This was a very wet basement. We stripped it back, took the dividing wall down and inserted an RSJ and dug down as far as we could without underpining to give as much headroom as possible and minimise the conversion costs to the client. We installed a small bathroom with toilet and sink, a work top to house a washer and cooker underneath and shelving between the chimney stack. All finished with a lick of paint. It still had room for a queen size bed/futon. An excellent use for what was previously a disused space.

Solution Installed:
Basement Systems Full waterproofing system with:

  • 1 x sump pump,
